At 1155 hours; units from 67, 715 (Mountville), 66 (Lancaster Twp), 65 (Millersville), 24 (Eden), 76 (West Hempfield), and 65 (Millersville) were alerted to Running Pump Road for a building on fire. Engine 671, Engine 672, Tower 67, and Lt 671 made the response with information of numerous calls reporting a fully involved trailer against the building. The units from 67 arrived and found the refrigeration unit on fire with a quick knock being put on the exterior. Crews from 67 and 715 advanced a second line to the interior of the building and made entry into the trailer to extinguish the remaining fire. The fire was contained to the trailer that was empty with a minor smoke condition in the warehouse. The assignment was downgraded to the units from 67, 715, 24, and 65 for ventilation and clean up. Additional units from 211 (Southern Manheim Twp), 55 (New Danville), 84 (Susquehanna #4), and 23 (East Petersburg) were added as part of the Working Fire Dispatch or covering units that had failed to respond. Engine 662 and Truck 23 were relocated to the 67 house while we remained on the scene with all units being clear of the scene in one hour. As the members were finishing up lunch, Engine 671 was alerted for the residential rescue on Colonial Manor Drive in Company 68’s local. Engine 671 arrived first and detangled the resident from the kitchen appliance and the resident was turned over to EMS for treatment. Not long after being back in the firehouse, Engine 671 was back on the street assisting Company 715 with a crash on Route 30 near Stony Battery Road. Engine 671 was placed available during its response with Engine 715 advising that they can handle the incident.
